Fallout 4 Combat Armor Pouches

This was my 3rd cosplay that includes some sort of custom belt pouches.  I was fairly happy with the results of the earlier cosplays, but I really wanted to make these simple to assemble, more robust, and have a basic design that I could adjust for future projects.

Converting Video Game Models for Prop Making in 3DS MAX, Part 1

Importing the Model

For this demo, I will be using the Brotherhood of Steel Distress Pulser from Fallout 4.  I’m expecting the reader to have a basic understanding of Autodesk 3DS Max.  (everything I’m doing is definitely beginner level!)  I’m also assuming the reader has set up their Max for metric units of measure, but it should work fine if set to inches too.  The model & maps were exported using the software called Noesisv, version 4172. Costume Elements

This costume will be made from 3D printed pieces, Worbla, EVA foam, and fabric components.  Right now I’m planning the helmet, air tank, and booster jet to be 3D printed.  The booster jet cover will be made from real fabric.  The shoulderpads & kneepad will be Worbla, and the chest armor will be EVA foam.  I’ll decide on the rest of the bits as I get to them.
