The following phrases and words are (hose most
commonly used by Marines during combat operations in the Republic of Vietnam.
The majority of the words and phrases have been taken from a list
published by Leatherneck Magazine and titled,
Fire Team Phrase Book. It is printed on water
resistant material and designed to withstand the
severe climatic conditions encountered in Vietnam.
(The Fire Team Phrase Book may be ordered in
accordance with the instructions contained in Section III of Marine Corps Order
P5600.31.) The use of these phrases by individual Marines and unit
leaders in the past has greatly contributed to the
success of many operations.
