M1 Belt - Spacer Block
One of the problems with using blank rounds with the M1 cartridge belt is the fact that the blanks are shorter than live rounds & therefore don't extent above the pocket. This makes it quite difficult to get the clip out of the pocket during combat. Adding a wood spacer block fixes this problem. Cut 8 blocks that are 3/4" x 3/4" x 1 3/4". Place one in each pocket of the cartridge belt. The photos below show the results.

Note that the blank rounds are buried in the pocket, while the blanks w/spacer
& live rounds extent about 1/2' above the pocket.
